About

Topogram is a Los Angeles–based landscape architecture practice dedicated to creating places that are environmentally regenerative and culturally expressive. We believe landscape architecture is an art as much as it is a technical and social discipline—one that transforms ideas, ecology, and human experience into enduring landscapes.

Founded by landscape architect Steven Chavez, Topogram combines topo—the land itself—with gram—a drawing, diagram, or proposition. The name reflects our design philosophy: understanding landscapes through careful observation, rigorous analysis, and creative exploration. Every project begins with the unique qualities of a site and evolves into a place that is functional, memorable, and responsive to its environmental, cultural, and social context.

Our work is guided by a commitment to ecological stewardship, social equity, and design excellence. We seek opportunities to expand access to public space, celebrate cultural identity, and create landscapes that foster lasting connections between people and place.
